Tips for interesting Parisian spots? I
I will be living and studying in Paris for a quarter starting this January. Apart from the obvious big-name tourist spots, I'm hoping to find some interesting places in the city. Libraries, the flea markets, and used book shops are already on my list. Any ideas for specific venues that might be similarly tucked away, but worth checking out?
Also, ideas for moderately priced but memorable cafs or restaurants would be perfect! Local or electronic music nightspots would be fantastic as well. Thanks.
Eiffel Tower has a nice View from one cafe.
And some about 5 blocks down by a historical museum.
Both good.
anywhere by the eiffel tower! duhhhh!

go to school so you have the education to work at McDonald's 1st then think about your own BUSINESS and if you can spell that you might not get turn down in 5 seconds flat for a BUSINESS loan
Considering you're identified as a "Top Contributor" I can only assume this is a joke. Whether it's a joke or not, my answer is the same: additional education *might* help.

Cheap Place to eat Dinner?
im on a very limited budget.
The market? I love to get food at the markets and picnic. Or the Grocery stores...granted, you have to go to several stores to get a meal, but at least they are generally grouped close to each other.
there are many Creperies...they have excellent crepes and the prices are usually resonable and there are so many options on what your crepe can be filled with
Mc Donalds
Eat at home.

My bird sleeps on the bottom of the cage, why?
Everytime I uncover him in the morning he is on the bottom of the cage. It doesn't seem like a logical place for a bird to sleep. Is this normal? Why is he doing this?
maybe the bird finds it comfortable to sit there

What is the average amount of money that is paid for french food items in France?
I would like to know whats the average price in US currency for a breakfast item, a lunch item, a dinner item, a dessert item, a drink, a glass of wine, a appetizer, and a specialty item. 10 points goes to whomever answers the entire question.
well having traveled to Paris, I can answer these items for you.
Breakfast is not a big thing in Europe. People usually have cappuccino or some type of a coffee drink or OJ and croissant. Their croissant's are amazing and small. Europeans have small meals. Breakfast as mentioned above for two usually costs 15 to 30 Euro's (approx. $17 to $38.00)depending on if you are at a tourist trap location also depending if you are sitting or standing. If you stand by the counter and eat, it's cheaper. It's always more costly to sit and eat :) A single cappuccino could cost about 5 Euro's (approx$6.50) if you stand.
Lunch can range from sandwiches 7Euro ($8.50) per person to a nice sit down (for two persons) pasta meal or chicken etc.. 30 Euros to 100 Euros. (approx. $35. to $110) Dinner the same. Everything depends on the type of meal you have, the location. I hope this helped! Europe over all is expensive especially because the dollar value is low!
20 bucks

Boeuf bourguignon in Paris?
Could you please recommend places in Paris for good and authentic boeuf bourguignon.
I was at one of the cafes in front of Jardin de Luxembourg and ordered this and saw through the mirror reflection that the cook in the kitchen was opening a can of boeuf bourguignon then heated it up.
Kinda reminded me of the scene from European Vacation with Chevy Chase!

A Montmartre restaurant...?
Does anyone know the name of a Montmartre restaurant that serves these amazing salads with fried potatoes on top? It's a little casual place with some outdoor seating, two floors, and a small bar... but I don't remember the name of it! I think there's a male name in it...
It's called Le Relais Gascon. Great salads, isn't it?
It's called Le Relais Gascon. Great salads, isn't it?
So can you tell me what you think about this?
I had a very interesting conversation with my mom's sister when I talked to her yesterday,
I wanted her to explain to me the clairvoyance thing again, I know what it means, sort of, but I am still learning it, I know I do it but don't know why!
So she told me that a lot of people have this ability, but they usually lose it at an early age,
one reason is that it was not strong enough to take hold in their spiritual awareness,
another reason is that the materialistic takes over, and occupies the mystic part in the mind of children and obscures it!
Like hundreds years ago, or even less, there was not the material consciousness that exists now, like no video games, cellphones, definitely no TV, no high rises, none of the stuff which we have to live with today, which it being the communication and materialistic age!
So People were in touch with their higher conscientiousness, like they had a link, to the grander scheme of things, like those astronomers knowing the constellation of stars and their meaning, without any instrument but their minds!
or being able to time travel in the future and have visions of what occurs there, like Nostradamus drawing the towers and their fall, and he was drawing sky scrapers
and futuristic cities, and that book with no writing, just empty pages, and the Mayans stopping with the time calenders in 2012.....
So probably Nostradamus did Astral traveling, which means the soul leaves the body and goes to whatever dimension it wants !
So in Norway, people living a more spiritual life, are much more connected to nature,
and the universe and they draw their power from there, where most people here in the US try to draw their power from material things, that is why their Spirit is empty.
My sister used to have it also, but she was scared to explore it, where to me I love Mystic,
that is why I am not scared, because I see the Universe as living and full of purpose, like a great mystical machinery,
and where some people just love their car and how it looks and how it performs,
that is how I love the universe, because it govens all life and Earth and on all other planets,
and when it has a certain constellation, like it will have in 2012,
there will be a major shift, I think it will be the beginning of the Spiritual Age, the Age of Aquarius,
That is what my aunt believes, a New Age, could be that those who survive will go back to living the Natural Way!
So this means we are leaving the Material Age behind and entering Spiritual Science!
It could also be the return of Jesus, or we might get a message from another intelligence,
but it will probably be the end of the world as we know it,
which is so OK with me, because this world needs a shift, but I think a lot of people will perish, because they are not going to get it, they are to caught up in their material illusions!
So maybe what I know how to do, will be a normal thing people can do, it being a Spiritual Science, it being already part of the New Age, where people have active communications with
Higher intelligence, and that way able to navigate from what is false and what is true!
it is like when for instance when you write me, I go beyond the words and pick up like what is really happening, and what you really do, when it is not masked by the words, so that is why when I saw your @Answers in Religion I knew it was fake, and that person was not living those words!
That is why it used to make me mad and I told you that a long time ago,
but I never get the whole picture, just my reaction to what I would feel if I knew the truth!
So that is what happens when I look at that picture of you in the suit at the wedding,
I see something, something else, sort of like a guy surrounded by lots of women,
which clashes with what you tell me of yourself!
Like a guy walking with a cane, going on disability, I sense something else, like when I look at that picture, it was the same as when I looked at your @A in Religion, something .....New Age,
I am actually glad that you are a normal guy, having a girlfriend in your past, going to the mall,
getting into issues with your family,
which Is good, but why the drama,? Of having me and my sister think you had all those phobias, were losing your memory, and slowly sliding out of your existence!
Were you said that you feared you would not remember me and you had to write me down on paper!
And that was in the days when your grammar was bad and I could hardly read what you wrote, but I knew what you were saying!
But now, the upside is that your grammar and spelling has really improved big time,
I have no problem understanding what you are saying, your spelling is pretty decent,
and you seem more like a interesting person, because you actually understand what they are saying on those programs!
So that is a big switch from the person from a couple of month ago,
when I really felt there was no use continuing even writing to you!
So that
no time to read it. too long.

What do you think of this is kind of new?
Hi
I have been meaning to ask you, what is chatting, ....
my sister does not know, and somehow I get all these e mail people asking if I want to chat,
I wonder how do they get my e-mail, or ask me to add them to my chat?
It must be coming from Yahoo, because that e-mail is attached to my Yahoo A, profile
this e-mail here I am writing from is not attached to Answers, I thought I better play it safe, in case I get my e-mail suspended, because of violations, because sometimes I don't care, I just want to say what I want, !
So I also did not know that Yahoo A was a social scene, were people were wanting to get to know others!
I have this one political blog, it is different than Answers, the people are older, but it takes up so much time, I guess that is a form of chatting, but in truth I am not into talking on the internet much,
So anyway I think you are more learned when it comes to things like that, so I thought, also what does IM mean, I get people asking me if they can IM me,, which I don't, I am way behind on Answers,
and I don't want to talk to people about stuff where I have no interest!
This afternoon I watched 6 episodes of "A Haunting, " I usually never watch those haunting' s on TV
because half the time I felt were they were stories, there seemed to be that "something" missing,
like it was kind of flat!
But these were pretty good, and 2 were excellent, so it was nice just hanging out at home for a bit, but I
would get totally bored, if I had to do that anymore, just laying around so I understand what you were saying about getting depressed from boredom!
But I am wondering what purpose it would serve, to tell people stuff which has no credibility at all,
and not even good stuff, but things like maybe getting Altzmeters, and other weird illnesses, or saying girls wanted nothing to do with you, or being cooped up in the mental loony bin, where you had to escape, that was funny!
I was cleaning up my e-mail and deleting a lot of old stuff, when I came across those e-mails from you from the summer, and I remember thinking you had a mental problem because you went to kill yourself with a knife, you were going to stab yourself in the chest,!
I never did believe that, because people, usually shoot themselves or hang themselves, but I don't think it is possible to stab yourself, I never heard that!
but you made it sound so dreadful, and I thought if I don't write you back, you would die,OMG,
I actually did believe that sort of, and I did not want to be responsible for your death!
Can you explain the purpose of those?
I just want to understand that, like I want to get into the mind of someone who would write that, for what purpose?
I am sometimes writing with other guys, but we write about what we want to do with our lives, about the day to day happenings, our thoughts, supernatural stuff, academic stuff, or technology, or what attracts us to other people, but never those things!
Maybe your talent lies in writing fiction, maybe you should write a book, about a severely disturbed
teen, and how he meets this girl who he thinks of as an Angel who came from another place to save him,
like the Angel from the Past, it is to bad you wiped that out on the profile you made for me, that showed some talent, that story, it was so sad, .......
but I never really believed to much of it, but it was somewhat entertaining!
And then he falls in love with this girl, he realizes how his feelings are changing into something profound,
and then that changes him to become a better and productive person!
Honest that is a pretty good story, and pretty amazing, but the Question remains.....
Why!
Honestly, I like that you have a good imagination, and can come up with that stuff, but I am wondering if the guy with the cane and the hip problem and the social programs is not another piece of fiction, ....
Don't answer that, because if it is not, my detecting mind, will detect it!
Just so you know,
And what do you mean I spoke Swedish with you, when did I do that, ?
I don't even know one Swedish word!
so did you get me mixed up with another girl?
And why would a guy say that girls wanted nothing to do with him, in school and now you say the girls loved you with all your problems yet!
And why did you want me and Li to believe you had those memory losses, you got to tell me a reason,
because I want to understand !
Anyway in those suit pic, you look slick, like if somebody showed me the pic's I would say Yes that guy looks nice, but he looks like trouble, not sincere, !
Expect the one where you have your arms crossed, I like that picture,
But also I see where honesty is so important in relationships, how damaging lies are, not that I am planning on lying to anyone, but now I am xtra careful, to not spin any stories!
Because sometimes when somebody asks me to go out, I do tell them a story, like I have plans, when I don't, because I realize that the worst sins ar
I like this. I like you ;-)
I don't know I think I liked it because it was interesting and last night I was drinking cough syrup (yuck) and then I felt really dizzy and had to drive to the bookstore and it was just so bad and I felt bad about myself for being that kind of person that would do that.
Tonight I'm going to go to bed and read some more of this Stephen King novel it's alright not his best but I do enjoy him do you like him?

oh have you tried tesco
There are a selection of excellant dustbins just outside the main entrance. Here you can find apple cores, grease-stained packaging, and rotting sandwiches, all of which are higly nutritional.
French cuisine is the best in the world, after all!

How can I buy the house tea of the famous Parisian restaurant La Tour de Argent?
by paying with money
I would suggest to contact them through
boutique@latourdargent.com
They don't sell it on their website, but I think by e-mailing them with your question, I think you might be able to buy their tea.

How much is it to eat on top of the effiel tower?
i need help
i have no idea
Google.
Yes, there IS a restaurant on the Eiffel Tower, and I believe it is on the 2me tage. And there are THREE levels of the Tower. You can walk to the second for less than the elevator, but you must take the elevator to the 3me.
But if you google it, you will find the information. I'm sure you can even get a copy of the menu, so you can get an idea.
I don't think I saw a restaurant up there. In fact, there are two levels that allow the public and the upper level is a little more than halfway up.
There is a restaurant on an upper floor of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris casino in Las Vegas

De quoi and Ce dont and delaquelle difference?
when not asking a question, when does de quoi fit in for ce dont.
which one of these make sense TO SAY THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT?
C'EST DE QUOI JE PARLE
C'EST CE DONT JE PARLE
OR C'EST DE CA QUE JE PARLE
and if you wanted to say>>.Do you know what i'm talking about???<<
do you say
TU SAIS DE QUOI/CE DONT JE PARLE
AND WHEN DO YOU USE de laquelle and duquel?
in english when you mention someone's name, you can put THIS, THAT, and THE in front of it. Can you do that in french.
ex-Im not talking about THE George Washington with white hair.
in french, do you put LE or LA in front of names too, whe youre trying to specify something
Why not try posting this question on the french yahoo. You may get the answer you want. Just post it exactly as is. I did this and got a reply in English for a question I had about language. Also, I wouldn't put it in the dining out section.

Where to eat lunch in Paris, Christmas week?
I'll be there just for a day trip (from London) and want a very authentic Parisian meal, no tourists. I won't have time to travel far fom the center of things, and may have a teen girl with me. No Guide Michelin Three Stars, please!
These are small bistros which generally have a small three to five-course menu ranging from 25-35?and a reasonably priced wine list.
Lntredgeu
83 Rue Laugier 75017 M: Porte de Champerret (01 40 54 97 24)
My current favorite. The chef has a good pedigree, and is cooking up a storm for just 28?for dinner. The cooking here is hearty and delicious, and with a finesse that separates them from the rest of the field. The room is cramped but very cheerful and charming. One of the best price/value rapport in the city.
Lurcine
92, rue Broca 75013 Paris (01 47 07 13 65)
A delicious new bistro, overseen by Yves Camdeborde of La Rgalade fame. Very cute little space, run by a very agreeable African lady who speaks perfect English.
Ls Moelle
3, Rue Vasco de Gama 75015 M: Lourmel (01 45 57 27 27)
My parennial favorite. The chef is a Constant protg. The menu here is still very refined, with at least 5 courses, each complex in its simplicity. They are on the higher price end of this group, with the dinner menu at 38? but worth every penny.
Le Repaire de Cartouche
8, boulevard des filles du calvaire 75011 M:St Sebastien Froissard (01 47 00 25 86)
Here is another Constant protg, in a space that looks like it could be an old hunting lodge. The cooking here is big and bold.
Chez Michel
10, Rue de Belzunce 75010 M: Poissonnire ( 01 44 53 06 20)
Yes, yet another Constant protg, with roots from Brittany which show in the menu. When I am here I always order something from that region, his yummy Kig-ha-farz, a pot au feu of sort, with pork jowls (the Kig bit) and curious doughy dumplings with sweet raisins (that would be the Farz bit). A great spot for a meal before/after the Eurostar.
Lrdoise
28 rue du Mont Thabor 75001 M: Beaubourg/Les Halles (01 42 96 28 18)
An ever popular spot for Anglo gastro tourists, but has managed to not let the quality goes down the drain even with the mainly non-local clientele.
Caf Constant
139, rue Saint-Dominique 75007 (01 47 53 73 34)
The first outgrowth in Christian Constant plan to take over rue Dominique. A simple neighbourhood bistro serving simple and good food. The clientele is a mix between high-rolling Le Figaro readers to local workmen.
Les Fables de la Fontaine
131 rue Saint-Dominique 75007 (01 44 18 37 55)
The newest of Christian Constant places on rue Dominique. This one focuses on fish and seafood. A lovely spot for a deliciously fishy lunch.
Mon Vieil Ami
69 Rue St Louis en l'Ile 75004 M:Cit (01 40 46 01 35)
Another favorite. This is a bistro outpost of the fabulous three-star Le Buerehisel in Strasbourg. The menu is not entirely Alsatian, but gives a nod to the general direction. Also on the higher price end of this scale (dinner menu 38?, and in a more refined -and highly designed- atmosphere than all the others. It is on the charming Ile St.Louis from where you could take a romantic and enchanting walk along the Seine to digest the meal.
Lmi Jean
27, rue Malar 75007 M:Alma Marceau (01 47 05 86 89)
The chef here was once a sous chef at La Rgalade while Yves Camdeborde was still cooking. The menu is very similar to La Rgalade, robust, hearty food. They do very good game (wild meats) during the season.
la biche aux bois
45 Ave Ledru-Rollin 75012 M: Gare de Lyon (01 43 43 34 38)
This place is always packed with locals. The tables are so closed together you think you are eating from a communal table ot that there anything wrong with it. The menu is completely void of pretension, the cooking is perhaps simpler than the others on this list, but no less tasty, and a great value at only 25?
Lvant Gout
26 rue Bobilot 75013 M:Place d'Italie (Auguste Blanqui exit) (01 53 80 24 00)
My friend Mr.Naughton is in love with the incredible 12.50?lunch menu here. You get an entree, plat, a glass of wine, and coffee, all included for the price, the bargain of Paris in my opinion.
La Table de Lucullus
129 rue Legendre 75017 M: La Fourche (01 40 25 02 68)
Clotilde introduced me to this place, a favorite of hers. I've only had foie gras and chocolate here (such a hard life I lead), but they were so lovely as to warrant a mention in this list. The affable young chef Nicolas Vagnon is reportedly a wiz at fish and seafood. His specialty dessert, chocolate saucer with ginger ice cream is a delectable treat.

What to do in Paris France?
i'm wondering is there anything to do in Paris France
Walking around the city, all over the place, is a treat in itself. It is absolutely gorgeous. If you're going, get a good guidebook like frommers or lonely planet, and figure out ahead of time if there are museums or sites you want to see (like going up the Eiffel Tower!)
The food and cafes are awesome too. If you're a club rat there's plenty of that too. You can also go to Jim Morrison's grave if you're a Doors fan. Or tour the catacombs-tunnels under the city-where the bones of 6 million people lay at rest. You can see the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo at the Louvre, or visit the Rodin Museum and see the famous statue The Kiss.
Have a great time if you go. It's a guaranteed awesome place to see.
No. Nothing at all. Most fascinating city in the world, but nothing to do at all. Just sit in your hotel room and rot.
points? who needs those?

Moulin Rouge in Paris?
I've been searching for the lyrics to the main theme "Feerie" for the past year and a half. I can't find them. I've asked my French professor if he could help and we pieced together a good portion of it. Can anyone else help out? You can find the audio on youtube

X factor tour 09 London (tonight)?
is anyone going ??? has anyone been if so what was it like who was there, im going tonight to the final one im so excited !!!
its at wembley does anyone know where the best chance to actually meet them is ??
thanks
I went to that one in wembley a couple of weeks back!
you'll love it so much.. they're all amazing and much better than on tv.
I dont want to spoil it for you but there are a lot of surprises chucked in!!
enjoooooooy.
My daughter went to Cardiff last night and rang me from her mobile every time someone was singing!! It was brilliant apparently, she loved it. Also thrown in for entertainment are some of the 'failures' of the audition shows, she saw the two 'rappers' who did the Peter Andre song, the guy who held a note so long it took up nearly the entire show and the Michael Jackson guy.
She said they were all amazing and even better in real life, I think you will love it.
Have fun.x

What is the best restaurant chain?
What do you think is the best popular restaurant chain around your area. I live in michigan and i used to love Chi-Chis, a mexican restaurant. Unfortunately, that chain went out of business about five years ago. So.... I want to know your opinion on what your favorite chain is
Forget chains.....Experiment and try independent or locally owned multiunits. It helps the local economy and your stomach will thank you too.
I like Applebee's and Chili's. I know they're pretty basic, but I like them, I think they have good food. Also love Panera if that counts as a restaurant. I wouldn't count it as "fast food" really..
long john silvers.. and white castle \, taco bells good too, kfc has a good buffet, Wendy's used to have a good buffet burger king once had a burger QUEEN and they served poprorn
Ruby Tuesday's,Applebee's,Longhorn's Steakhouse and Buggaboo Creek Steakhouse
Although I'm not into chain restaurants, if I was forced to choose one, probably Ruby Tuesday.
Like cheap-ish, casual chain, def Outback...mmm, I love their cheese fries and they just re-did the menus and have quesadillas now! :)
P.F Changs [Chinese]
burger king
I agree with mred1989.
But if I have to choose, I'd say Capital Grille or Ruth's Chris.

Do you think a 24-hour restaurant would have rodent problems?
...the lights never go out and there's always activity, so do you think a restaurant open 24 hours would have a rodent problem?
I'm interested in an apartment located right next to a 24-hour McDonald's and I fear the fast food will be a high traffic rodent area. But if it's open 24-hours, I'm hoping the pests may be deterred.
What do you think? 10 pts.
Probaly not. because they wouldnt want to come over to the apartments they would rather stay where the food is. (at mcdonalds)
With all the activity & light, I doubt it very much. Also, most McDonald's have a very good sanitation program.
Don't do it, they still have a dumpster and 24 hrs. a day customers
of cource

What kind of delicacies do they eat in Trang?
I love food and am interested in what gets eaten there.
The main Trang delicacy is special Trang Pie most of the local men eat this on a daily basis while the ladies prefer to eat snake.
B ukkake. A Japanese delicacy.
Bearded clam sammiches.......Mmmmmmmmm!
Sausages and clams.
I've had some delicious sausage there.
They have prune trang. It's to die for!

How many of you had your first job at a fast food joint?
How was it? How long did you stick with it?
McDonalds for 2 years back in 1974.
I was so excited to get the job because it was a brand new store and there were not many jobs available. We had to write the orders down on a pad and add it all by hand. We had to calculate the tax too. No computer to tell you how much change to give!
Now I am a CPA...wonder if the early math made a difference in my career choice?
ME!....I worked at Mcd's. Only reason i picked that was because that was the only place locally that would hire 15 year olds and i wanted a job RIGHT THEN. I worked there until I was 16, and quit to become a waitress at a Perkins and stuck it out there for 5 years.
Actually, mine was at a gym cleaning mirrors from the sweat of men working out. I didn't get paid, but I got to work out weekly for free. My first real paying job was being a bag boy at a local grocery store. Sucks when I was stronger than the boys. Paper was in back then.
My first job was fast food. It was really easy. it was the easiest job i have ever hadd. i was there from 15 to 19 it was really fun too. and i met my first real bf there so all in all it was good
I started at Chick-fil-A when I was 15 and six years later I'm still there. I love my job. I'm an assistant general manager and I hope to operate my own chick-fil-a in the future.
not mine. my first job was at a recreational park , which was wen I was just 16. but my 2nd one was at Taco Bell.
My first job was at Wendy's when I was 17. It sucked. I stayed there for 5 months.
ME lol subway baby, 14 years old! i loved it, worked there for 2 years

Is there any mountains in Trang I can climb?
In the southern part of town you have Trang hills. Not quite mountains but they are just as nice. They are a popular place for the tourist to go and eat some Trang food.
Byron, are you forgetting? There's TaTa Mountain...Very popular with the Tourists and Locals alike!
PS...Byron just wants to keep TaTa Mountain a secret...he's up there every weekend!
No, but there are mounds you can massage.
No but there are some in Sydney.
Mount Beer is always a good choice.

Is it less of a sin in Trang to cheat on your spouse?
cuz, I'm about ot go have lunch with a very hot, friend and I'm wearing my sexy panties.
While in Trang it is never a sin to cheat on the spouse. Why else would I spend so much time in Trang.
Kinda like opening a special account just to answer certain questions, Phen Guomnuac?
Don't remember seeing cheating on Yahoo in the original 10 commandments. Maybe God can answer this and let us know if in fact it is.
Thought you was gonna tell him you had diarrhea.
Yeah and I'm waiting.
You better just get up on it instead of all this talk young lady.
If you wear your sexy panties, it does not count.
nope no excuse sir! keep you legs, mouth and eyes closed!

Hi,
We are considering staying at Excalibur next week. We are on a budget! How's the buffet at Excalibur?
the buffet is super good. :)
you should go there, I recommend.
I stayed at the Excalibur one time and I stayed there. The buffet is off the hook but the prime rib made me sick the whole trip.
IT IS TEH BOMB THOUGH!!!

What should I wear to Blowfish Sushi on Santana Row in San Jose?
It's my first time going, I'm going on a date....I planned on wear a little black dress with flats and an evening clutch. Is this too dressy? What's the atmosphere like?
If you're going on a Fri or Sat night, that's perfectly fine! People do wear jeans there, but usually dress them up with nice tops, shoes, accessories.

Do you automatically check the balance of gift cards prior to using them for purchase?
A co-worker received a gift card through the mail from a business thanking her for her "personalized service". It was a $25 gift certificate to a restaurant. Without thinking she took her two friends and went to lunch. The server returned and told her that the card had a zero balance. Upon checking on the company, it was a company that did not exist. Someone obviously played a prank.
My question is this, if you received a gift card from a "business" that seemed reputable, would you still check the balance or would you simply use the card? I, myself, have to admit that I would have taken it for granted that it had a balance on it as well.
I always do even if it is from a relative! My aunt gave me a $100.00 American express gift card for my wedding. Well I went and got all of the stuff I wanted and got to the register where they told me it had a zero balance. I even had the receipt showing she had paid for it. I had to mail her back the gift card and it took them two months to give her money back.
Now when ever I get a card I check the balance first. I don't want to go through that mess again.
I always check the balance on any gift card prior to use, even if it is one I purchased myself. There are many ways someone can siphon that money off the card even without ever taking it physically and I want to make sure that hasn't happened. I also always register my cards online, so if something does happen I get the money back minus a fee rather than lose the whole amount of the card. I use gift cards as a way to monitor and budget my "fun" money (read: internet shopping! LOL!) and I'd hate to have to give that up because I didn't want to take the time to take precautions. I simply love shopping too much to take the chance!
I wouldn't even think about checking the balance. But I think a few of those cards have 1-800 numbers that you can call to check
Makes sense to check on the balance, esp. after reading some of these stories.
i always check the balance to make sure

I wouldn't even think about checking the balance. But I think a few of those cards have 1-800 numbers that you can call to check
Makes sense to check on the balance, esp. after reading some of these stories.
i always check the balance to make sure

The zip is 10018
Are you looking for a really nice restaurant or something more laid back? Price range?
Bryant park grill is the obvious answer but...
Baldoria is a phenomenal Italian restaurant nearby.

Gotta eat a buffet--what do i do?
Im really thin. I cant eat unless im hungry. My aunt invited my family to a buffet in 1/2 and hour. theyre gonna get mad if i dont eat. Not eating isnt an option. HELP ME!
eat small portions. if you are nibbling and talking they may not notice. a simple, "i don't eat a lot at one sitting -- i nibble throughout the day" should suffice.
It really helps to smoke the drug marijuana before eating. This increases the appetite and makes the food usually taste delicious. Highly recommended.
eat salad there. It shouldnt be too filling. also, do a lot of talking. this should keep your aunts mind off of you eating.
Just say No.
spread stuff out on your plate and eat slow so it appears like you are eating

What kind of animals live in Trang?
I would like to know what their native wildlife is?
The Trang Snake is a native of Trang. It is a very large and stiff snake that enjoys Trang.
They also have a Trang Platyus which is different than the normal one. The Platypus here is a very wet and bald.
I hear there's alot of wild beavers.
REALLY wild beavers.
you dont tend to see many cats or dogs there. unless you open a menu.
I hear the One-Eyed Trouser Snakes are indiginous and quite abundant....they're easy to spot.

What is the native tongue when ordering in a Trang restaurant?
I'd luv it if someone from Trang could help me. Thanks!
In Trang we do not discriminate and will take any tongue willing to eat Trang food.
I would suggest just using your own native tongue. I think that should work just fine.
Trang is in Thailand, so the language is Thai
Yuck, I wouldn't wanna eat a tongue. Seems like they would be tough.
I hear they speak a mixture of pigeon Russian and ye olde English.
Hey snap! We both have extremely sexy avatars!
I thought we'd just have it delivered to our hotel room.
Afterall you'll be "TIED" up for awhile.

Will my flight to Trang have meals from Trang or the united states? I want to try Trang cuisine before arrivin?
Sorry you will be stuck with American food on the way there. I do know they do have some good American Trang on the plane though. You have to ask special request for it. Just ask the Flight attendant that is easiest to get a hold of.
US..your flight meal will most likely be from the country of origin. Sorry for your lots.

How do you ask friends to leave their kids at home when you
I'm meeting some friends for dinner this weekend and while I love their kids, I'm hoping they'll leave them with a sitter when we go out. Is there any way to phrase it so I don't come off as insulting?
It's really simple.... Tell them what you told us.
You love their kids but you were really looking forward to spending some adult time with them.
You could even offer to pay for a babysitter for them.
If they are smart they will lokk forward to having some grown up time alone!
Since the plans are already made, I don't think there is much you can do.
In the future, I would phrase the invite as "hey, do you guys want to get together for an adult evening?"
If they invite you out, then you just have to assume that the kids are coming, it would be rude to ask them to leave them.
Just say: "Hey lets do adult night starting with dinner, a wine bar or a bar or lounge afterwards. I'm sure they will understand not to bring kids. Believe me( I have children) I think they will appreciate it, its so relaxing without the kids.
Did they invite you? If so there's not much you can do.
If you invited them, choose a restaurant that serves liquor and they don't allow minors.
I agree that suggested a bar-restaurant type location is best.
One thing that you may have to understand is that your friends may not be able to get a sitter. They may not be able to afford one or have found one that they trust.
Do you have kids?
maybe offer to have them bring their kids over to your sitter?
at times that helps because they dont know who to trust with them etc.
I wont leave my kids with just anyone. Not happening.
say that you need an adult night out
maybe you could offer ideas for babysitters or offer to pay/split the cost
yeah say you need an adult night outt. that should do it.

Nice Italian Restaurants near Wilmington, Delaware, to take a first date, where you can sit and relax quietly?
Need a place that will not rush you out the door once you are done eating.
I don't know if it's in Delaware or not but you could try to find a Maggiano's.. it's expensive though.
Or Olive Garden for a cheaper route.

What is the best fast food company to work for?
and why?
BK might be getting a union.
Actually they're all pretty bad. The managers are usually arrogant losers who are angry at the world because they're 60 years old and never had a real career. Your co-workers will be either thieves or mentally retarded or both. Customers will think you're an idiot because you're a fastfood worker. You'd be better joining a circus or carnival. It would be more dignified.

What can I do when a waitress wrote in a tip on my receipt?
A couple friends and I went out to Applebees. On my receipt there was an automatic 15% tip. So when I check my account the next day I realized that there was an extra 5 bucks added to my total. I called the manager of the location and he said that matters would be handled. It has been 4 days now, I mean who do I report this to I am furious.
I was a bartender at one of the Rosebud restaurants in Chicago while I was in college, and it occurred to me that it would be extremely easy to add tips (I never did!!! Don%26#039;t worry!!!), since customers wouldn%26#039;t look at the bill very carefully and would just sign their names. You are fortunate that you kept your receipt so that you could notice the discrepancy.
In order to avoid this in the future, put a line through the area that is labeled for the tip and write out the total in the area labeled total. It surprises me that people will sign their names to a piece of paper without considering these things, and I am sure this theft happens quite often.
While there is no way to ascertain that you did not add that tip, chances are if you continue to contact Applebee%26#039;s to complain, they will give you a gift card or somehow recoup your loss. When the manager stated that the issue would be handled, he may have meant that he would speak with the server about it, not necessarily that he would get your $5 back. Make sure that you state to the manager exactly what steps you hope will be taken to resolve the matter. Most likely, the manager will do whatever he can to help you, since they will not want to lose your business or the business of any friends that you may tell about the bad experience.
The most important piece of this story is %26quot;a couple of friends and I...%26quot;
How many is %26quot;a couple%26quot;? If there were six or more of you, then it is standard procedure to add 15% to the bill. Almost every restauarant in America accepts this rule, as to the customers. It assures waitstaff of a standard tip, even if the party that they are spending a lot of time on turn out to be a bunch of lowlife jerks. You are always welcome to add to that, but if you are a party of six or more, you should expect it by now.
If there were fewer than six of you, the waitress might just have gotten approval from the manager on duty, on some basic assumption...This would be NOT a standard thing, but still, if the manager ok%26#039;d it, then there probably isn%26#039;t a lot you can do about it.
The manager you spoke to may just be waiting until the othe manager and/or waitress are ON DUTY to discuss it.
It is fraud. It is stealing. The server is a thief and should be fired and arrested. You have to call back every other day. It%26#039;s not that it was %26quot;just $5%26quot; because, if the server stole $5 from each of 20 tables per day, that%26#039;s $100 per day or a lot per year. Call the manager back. Be sure to get the manager%26#039;s name. Tell the manager that you will deal with the home office if you can%26#039;t get satisfaction on the local level. I once paid with a gift card, and the server decided to take a 20% extra tip off of it, even though I had left cash on the table. I eventually (after about a month and 4 phone calls later) got the illegal tip reversed and a $25 gift certificate. If this was on your credit card, call the cc company right away and tell them that you dispute the charge. The cc company will follow up for you. I don%26#039;t know how to avoid it other than paying only with partial gift certificates and cash.
Ok, relax. Waiting tables is a stressful job and if you were a bunch of punka*sses, then you%26#039;re some of the most annoying customers there are. The service gratuity is added to the check when there%26#039;s a large tab that won%26#039;t tip. There%26#039;s also the fact that if there were a lot of you throwing credit cards at her, then the slips might have gotten messed up. Ask your friends if one of them were a decent human being and paid her for her services. Maybe that%26#039;s where the five dollars came from.
I am now a manager, but used to be a server, and I would NEVER do that. It is illegal and considered credit card fraud.
I would call your bank or credit card company and explain the situation and that this is a false chage; in most cases they will ask the restaurant for a full refund. Was the manager you spoke with friendly? Did he/she apologize and offer to send you promotional gift cards or anything to that extent?
I would call the restaurant again and speak with whom you previously talked to. Just inform them you do plan on taking further action so there aren%26#039;t any %26quot;surprises%26quot; on them later.
Chances are they spoke with the server and either gave her a warning or let her go.
Either way, I am sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately, it happens more often than not.
If you pay by credit card then a service fee is automatically added to the amount. The $5 extra is the Waiters tip. As you did not tip the waiter/waitress on leaving in cash, it was added to the credit card amount. This is a normal practice. In the clasy restaurants the Wait fee can be $15 to $25. Also, if you drink wine, there is a corkage fee also.
was the $5 in addition to the automatic gratuity, or was the $5 the actual automatic gratuity??? if it was in addition to the grat, the server should be and probably was fired. i would call corporate, they make sure this is handled appropriately.
if the $5 was the actual automatic gratuity, you should have complained when you looked at your bill, not later. personally i tip 20%, 15% is not adequate.
good luck!
You should have noticed it while making the payments...the restaurant would have been answerable at that time..but noticing it the next day...i doubt it would help...its always a good idea to go through the details on the receipt before making the payments.
FIVE DOLLARS?! I mean I could understand three of four but FIVE WHOLE DOLLARS?! Yeah, it%26#039;d piss me off too, but let it go. What do you want, someone to get arrested or something? Ask the manager for five bucks, I%26#039;m sure everything will be fine.
God, calm down. I would bet my CAR that the server did not do that to you. That was an automatic thing to make sure the credit card had enough to cover the bill. If it isn%26#039;t resolved by now, call your bank. It happens all the time.
go to corporate. find out the managers name and store location and go to an applebee%26#039;s website to complain. all complaints go to a higher manager so that store manager gets written up and server will be punished as needed.
Call your bank - they%26#039;ll be able to reverse the extra $5 charge added on to the bill and taken out of your account. Then the restaurant would have to get that $5 from the server that took it.

Are the locally owned pizza parlors better than the chain pizza restaurants?
Are the locally owned pizza parlors better than the chain pizza restaurants?
Franchise store pay a fee to be part of the chain. The fee is like a membership fee that pays for advertising and promotions. It can be as high as $25000 a year.
Owned stores have to pay for their own advertising and promotions and rarely spend more than $3000 a year ( menus, letterbox drops, newpaper adverts etc).
Chain stores are owned by the same company so there is no fee.
The difference is turnover and profit.
Chain stores will turnover higher volumes but the margin will be lower but the profit is still higher. Franchise stores will turnover high volumes but the profit is degraded by the fees.Self-owned stoes will have a lower turnover but the margin is higher.
Turnover and profit will also be affected by the location. A locally owned store can be better as they will provide better service and 95% of their customers will also be locals. You can also determine your own hours of service whereas the others are determined by policy.
if you like pizza hut then they will taste the same where ever you go.
if you want different then eat the local pizza.

Do I Have A Chance of Getting into Indiana University?
I am a sophomore and have A 3.38 Cumulative GPA at a highly competative high school in Cleveland, Ohio. I am taking somewhat easy courses. I was planning on taking Geometry and Algebra 2 Next year and AP US Govt. I was in the 52nd Percentile on the PSATs and in the 59th on the PLAN tests (Just under a 22 on the ACTs). I'm on the Golf Team (Varsity Letterman/Chagrin Valley Conference Honorable Mention), I participate in JCWA, B'nai Brith Youth Organization, and I volunteer at a museum. I also was planning on getting some reccomendations. But my test scores suck, I was planning on getting a tutor, but can I get up to a 25 or so? Ok Thanks, I really appreciate your help!
GO OHIO!!! You schould come join me at OSU!!! Anyways. Of course you have a shot you know how colleges say you need high test scores that is not all they look at. My ACT sucked but since I had good grades in highschool, and praticipated in sports, and community service It showed that I had passion for other people and just am not that great of a test taker. You have a chance just apply and sit back and relax. You said you are going to get a tutor and mosy people can go up 2 - 3 points on the ACT so its not to far of a reach if you really want it.

It can indicate agreement or approval. It means you like what someone has said.
Legitimately copied from dictionary:
legitimate
adjective |lijitmit|
conforming to the law or to rules : his claims to legitimate authority. See note at genuine .
?able to be defended with logic or justification : a legitimate excuse for being late.
?(of a child) born of parents lawfully married to each other.
?(of a sovereign) having a title based on strict hereditary right : the last legitimate Anglo-Saxon king.
?constituting or relating to serious drama as distinct from musical comedy, revue, etc. : the legitimate theater.
-------------
Legally, literally, its real, for real, on the up and up, that seems to be how they are using it.
It's a really dumb word. everyone is sayin it! It basically means "correctly" But people use it as if it meant "cool" or "awesome", or if something really works, like "My new pipe is so legit!" or "the new Snoop Dogg CD is Legit!" but dont start using it...
yeah it is most likely slang
Legit: (adj) to be in a state just past coolness.
IDK: I don't know
all it means is o thats sick/cool/ awsome
legit means it works, its good, not fake
it means its correct/true/cool....kinda lame tho LOL

I am failing biology?
Hi,
I'm a freshman and I got my interims in the mail today. Bio is the hardest class I've ever taken, and this reflected in my grade. I've never gotten an F before, and I need to get my grade up to at least a C by the end of the quarter.
I was absent with the flu for a week, and I was so overwhelmed by work that I didn't finish all my bio. I've also missed a few assignments because I've been just so... overwhelmed with everything this quarter. How can I convince her to let me turn some of these missing assignments in for partial credit?
How can I get my grade up to a C by the end of the quarter? Is it even possible?
it all depends on the teacher if they are willing to do that. Some will and some have no sympathy what so ever. As for getting your grade up, i guess only thing you can do is do all your homework and study for tests and exam, and maybe try asking her if she does any extra credit you can do.
I think you are the victim here. I think the prof owes you a C at least. I mean, seriously, how can she expect you to be able to work through such a debilitating disease and 'everything'. I would take this up with the dean or the president of the university ASAP.
Talk to your teacher and see what you can do for partial credit, instead of getting a zero. Yes, you can bring up your grade to a C, especially if your class is graded on a curve. Just try to get an A on every test, or quiz from now until the end.
Good luck.

What represents the first amendment?
What are some pictures that represent the first amendment in action, links please.
search for images that represent what you believe to be
freedom of
speech (hate speech-a constituitional right)
press (anti government headline maybe)
religion (any religious image maybe "In God We Trust" showing that we overall approve/believe in a "God" and that we trust "Him")
assembly (PEACEFUL protesters) [Peaceful is important people do not have the right to violently protest]
I think the picture of Larry Flynt, the infamous publisher of Hustler magazine and 1st amendment pioneer, dressed in an American Flag Diaper, is a great one.
find some of differentchurches and journalist stuff like that

Are genetics and punnett squares a biology or chemistry topic?
They lean more towards biology, more specifically; genetics
biology, punnett squares deal with possible percentages of inherited traits, whether recessive or dominant, homozygous or heterozygous, etc. while the study of genetics deals with genes and everything about them. They're both skewed towards biology, although chemistry can be applied.
biology - they both have to do with genetics and genotypes and what not - although in the begining, there is some "chemistry" involved wink wink -giggity giggity, giggity goo - stay tuned america :P

I need a help with my essay, i need some ideas?
Our community received a large grant . Two proposals have been made . one is to have after school program . the other is to have adult how to read program .which one is your choice wil help with the people in the community?
Can you guys help figure out some ideas about writing this essay , i do really want some supporting details, and expand them a little bit , i need some hints . thanx!!!
This is a very difficult choice.
If you have an after school program, you will provide a place for latch key children to go, children whose parents are still working when they get home from school. It would (I hope) be a safe environment and give chances to play and get study help.
On the other hand, an adult literacy program can also give great benefits. Those people can then get better jobs (or get a job in the first place). The better job and the literacy will allow them to then get further education, maybe a GED, maybe go on to a community college for professional training and more. All of those things benefit the person, the person's family, and the community. It takes that person off welfare roles, or at least increase the chances. Finally, if this person becomes educated and able, he or she has a chance of helping his or her own children to become educated. It starts a positive cycle rather than a negative cycle.
I hope these at least clarifies the advantages. Each can be a good choice.
I'm thinking the after school problem will be better. Instead of kids fighting, doing drugs, or getting involve in no good behaviours, the after school program will help prevent it. Now there's way too many drop-outs, and young violence, and it's not the kids fault. They just need help, support, and motivation. Especially if the after school program will help kids academically, then I think it's a must. It also provide employment opportunities to other people in the community
that wants to help. Why not do both? After school program during the day, at night will be a program for aiding adults on bow to read.
After school program deffo.. children nowadays don't have things to do, it could be educational and also benefit there social skills, effective communication etc and give them confidence boosters :) xx

I am pushing myself to hard.?
I'm taking Pre-Ap Geometry right now(FYI...I'm a High Skool Freshman) and I took Pre-Ap Algebra 2 last semester. Now I'm planning on taking Algebra III and Trigonometry as a Sophmore, Math Analysis and Pre-Calculus as a Junior, and finally AP Statistics and AP Calculus as a Senior. Am I pushing myself too hard to become a Peditrician or something else in the medical field?
depending on your mathematical aptitude and your drive this could be right or too much (your other classes also factor in) This is a decelerated version of what I did (i ended up going to college my senior year of highschool)
myopinion-- It has been done, and you can probably do it
yeah, your overdoing it. by the time you get to college you might feel that you need a break and slack off. but you should relax. remember, life happens to you when youre busy making other plans.
Not at all. When you enter med "skool", you'll be prepared to work hard and understand the concepts which will give you an advantage over the others.
As long as you can handle it, I would say it is pretty impressive. Keep up the hardwork and you might become something in this life.
Not at all: best get it out of the way now, because there gonna be better things to worry about when in college.
i dont know wot any of that stuff is so yes i think

Colleges.... and high school grades.... so frustrated! please read and answer!?
I really want to go to Emory University as an undergraduate school and transfer to Emory, School of Medicine as a graduate school. Or I want to go to Oxford College at Emory University and then transfer to Emory University as a junior, and then transfer again to Emory University, School of Medicine. I don mind that much going to UGA and then transferring to Emory University during sophomore year and then going to Emory, School of Medicine. Yeah I have these big goals but I worried that I might not get accepted into these colleges! I have a 77 as my academic GPA and 79 for overall GPA. I got this worksheet from my counselor to figure out how to get HOPE scholarship. The worksheet told me that if I get straight A from now on I can get a 3.3 to get the Hope. (You need a 3.0 to get Hope). I sucked my last semester and freshman year and I really want to get all A this semester, junior, and senior year. Am I too late or do I still have a chance of getting accepted? I also doing volunteer work at a hospital. Planning on joining Key Club next year and senior year. So please answer if you think I can have a chance of getting accepted. And I would love ANY tips on how to do better to get accepted to these colleges. Thanks!
I don't think its too late but you do need to get with your counselor and maybe find out more about the colleges and what they look at for acceptance. As for tips I think it is great that you are so concerned with your future and it sounds like you really want it so just go for it. Just do your best in school, do activities you enjoy and figure out what interests you- what you would want to be doing for the rest of your life. Do what makes you feel accomplished and happy. I didn't do very well in high school and still got into a pretty good university. Another tip- don't let you're worries get in the way of what you really want- a good education.
The GPA dominates. all the extracurricular is nice but way second to GPA. get with your school counselor and do the numbers on what you expect to end up with. also consider if summer school will let you get higher grades and more hours to boost your GPA.

What should my husband and I have for lunch?
There is nothing here at the house and neither of us can decide what we want. We have pretty much all the major fast food restaurants around. If it helps we live in Wichita.
Personally ,I like Chinese food ,as long as there is no MSG .Healthy too .Very tasty.
It depends on what you are craving ! If you want something spicy i suggest you hit up Del Taco and get a spicy chicken burrito, they are really good. If you want fries and a burger, hit up burger king !
Why not skip lunch and the two of you think of something more creative to spend the time doing?
I would choose
Appleebees
and have one of their rib meals they are delicious
i dont know if you got a chillis...but i would say chillis yummmm
go for Meat balls with noodles

Should there be an extra charge for getting flat bread instead of regular bread on subway
I got flat bread instead of regular bread today at subway, the cashier told me there was an extra charge for it. The sign just said you could substitute any 6" bread with flat bread.
nopeeeee
Subway charges extra for just about everything except vegetables. By making the purchase anyway you pretty much gave up your right to argue the point. If there was no extra charge on the sign you should have asked to speak to a manager if the extra charge is that important to you. Once the cashier lets you know it's extra and you take it anyway you've agreed by verbal contract to that price.
I work at subway, and no there should not be an extra charge! go back and get your money back for it! flat bread is just another type of bread. they do have to charge extra for extra cheese or meat because it is food cost for us and our food is very expensive!
It didn't say it was free. It gives you the option to have it on flat bread instead. Just like it says you can make any sandwich a "WRAP"...
If the sign said "no charge" they shouldn't have charged extra.

Where
can someone tell me where's a good place to go on a first date and do other stuff the place has to be in south australia adelaide well i have a bf kinda we both love each other and were mates and seeing where that gose were taking it slow though and i just want to know where would be a best place to go on a first date and after the dinner thing what else can you do besides them going to your house with you this date thing has to be without parents watching you on your first date iam 16 and my boyfriend hes 20 please help me and what do i need to know on a first date cause i never been on a date before i just want to be ready for when he ask me out i just want to be ready and know everything i need to know thank you everyone for helping me with this
i think a good place to go on your first date would be either to a movie or a cafe (not a restaurant, you know to keep things toned down). I think that since you are sixteen and he's twenty, that its important to do something that both of you can enjoy while in each others company. a movie is good because you two can watch a movie you both are interested in and connect that way..but make sure it's something you both want to see. A cafe is good because you two can have some small talk over a little meal or bite..it's not too much like a restaurant where you'll be having a big meal and too consumed in your food. ;)
Take a breath, relax, everything will be fine. Movies are good, amusement parks, ice cream shops, coffee houses, stand up comedy, walk in the park.
Don't pick an overly romantic place. You want your date to feel relaxed and at ease.
So, coffee place, the park, restaurant, concert, movie theater are fine for a first date.
Depends on interest. Shows are always good or just a favorite burger place, do you skate? a picnic or bowling or a sports outing?
anywhere !!!!
a movie
a theatre
the beach
a good sit down restaurant
a fast food restaurant

Is it legal to work at a resturant and have to give the cooks 30% of your tips of whatever you make?
I work at a japanese resturant and I make pretty good tips and after every shift we have to give 30% to the tips? Just trying to find out if this is legal or not?! Help me! Please
It may be legal but it is morally wrong. The customer gave the tip to the waiter/waitress not the busboy etc. Tips are for the waitress/waiter. Why do you think you do not need to tip at a buffet?
Only if the servers as a group have agreed to that policy as part of employment with the restaurant. Sometimes, I see as only fair if the kitchen staff is working their **** off. After tipping off the bar, busser... you should have 50-65% which is pretty normal. Just make sure you log all your tip outs so the IRS don%26#039;t get you (they have free log books too!)
anything is legal if you agree to it prior to starting work there. it%26#039;s up to the employer to set the rules and if you don%26#039;t like it you don%26#039;t have to work there!!
Pooling tips is common practice in most restaurants. Everyone except the owners can be part of the tipping pool.
30% sounds like a lot to me... how do they even know how much you made when some tips are in cash? Most restaurants do tip out based on sales... at my job we tip out 3% of sales.
Never heard of tipping the cooks. But, really, restaurants get away with a LOT.
I%26#039;ve had to annie up with bartenders as well, but never with cooks. Just depends on who you work for.
some places.. yes.

What are everyday special sandwiches at McDonald in Toronto?
You know like maybe for tuesday: big mac, friday: filet-of-fish, etc. I was specially looking for Filet-of-Fish. How much is the price?
wutsup, TO here as well. so yea, they dont have the McDeals anymore, so you may have to get a couple of double cheesburgers (1.39) or jr, chickens. Best deal is at BK, they still have the value meals, and there set up the same was as McD was. tuesday is chicken
wednesday is the best because its whopper
thursday is a bigmac wannabe-king supreme
friday is fish
saturday-double cheesburger
I don't think McDonald's have daily specials anymore. They replaced it with the $1.39 Extra Value Menu. It's like that where I live (western Canada). I'm assuming it's the same for all McDonald's in Canada.
In Toronto they don't have fillet o fish they have replaced it with moose burgers.
wutsup, TO here as well. so yea, they dont have the McDeals anymore, so you may have to get a couple of double cheesburgers (1.39) or jr, chickens. Best deal is at BK, they still have the value meals, and there set up the same was as McD was. tuesday is chicken
wednesday is the best because its whopper
thursday is a bigmac wannabe-king supreme
friday is fish
saturday-double cheesburger

What is this Boston cafe?
About 8 years ago I took a trip to Boston and ate in this really good sandwich cafe (it was a chain). It was not Au Bon Pain but was very similar to it (maybe even a competitor). I want to say that it was called "Madeleine's" but I know that's not it. It was a long name like that, though. It actually may have been in Cambridge where I went to it, but I remember seeing some in Boston, as well. Am I crazy or do you know what I am referring to?
Thanks in advance
It sounds to me like you're thinking of either Rebecca's Cafe or perhaps Stephanie's on Newbury St.
Stephanie's is a little pricier and not exactly a sandwich shop. Rebecca's has great sandwiches, soups, coffee, etc.

Why do I always leave Subway smelling like butt?
Anyone who has been in Subway knows the distinct odor that stains your clothes and hot boxes in your car the whole way home.
My father thinks its b/c of the bread and yeast, but i have made bread at home many times and never does it smell like butt. So my question, what is it in the subway restaurants that causes the strong odor?
I worked at subway for 1 year, and every time I leave I definitely smell like a$$. I believe this is because of the yeast in the bread, and that herb and cheese spread that goes on the bread stays on your skin-gross.
I've noticed that too! I've noticed it being on my hands after I eat my sandwich for hours after. I always thought it was the onions and the creamy italian dressing I get put on it?? what kind of sandwich do you normally eat? My guess is the dressings and veggies. :)
It is the yeast in the bread or the butt flavor air freshner they use.
It's the bread.
Well it could be anything..the bread and the meats, veggies. I don't know really but I love the meatball sand which!..lol
It does not stain my clothes. It smells no better or worse that any other fast food restaurant I've been in.

Does anyone think Gordon Ramsay is gay?
The loud Chef from Hell's Kitchen... People where I work keep speculating about it.
He's outwardly super Alfa, but they're the sort to sneak into the bogs aren't they.
He's married with children and was recently in the papers for allegedly having an affair with another woman.
If he's gay, he's doing a very good job of hiding it.
Either way, does it matter?
He's married with 4 children but there was that incident I read about involving some sort of gross indecency with two gentlemen in an underground lavatory back in 1994. Maybe bi?
I doubt he is gay - but I bet a lot of gay men fantasize about him anyway.
Besides - a lot of British men appear effeminate or 'gay.'
he aint gay....but his boyfriend is......
don't think so but whatever.
I think no is not
nope. he's mean...which oddly makes him cool
no i don't think he is.

My favorite is probably Umbertos in the north end, they have the best and cheapest pizza there is!
South Street Diner is terrific!
